Graphic tees…I have a love-hate relationship with these puppies. This on-again, off-again trend first appeared in the late 30’s and has been a closet staple ever since. Over the years, I have acquired my fair share of these tees and I have also tossed quite a few as well. Like I said previously, my relationship with these tees is quite rocky. However, I will give this trend a second chance as I share with you how I rock my graphic tees.
For today’s look, I am rocking my Johnny Cash vintage-inspired graphic tee. In all honesty, I am not really a big vintage tee wearer but when something speaks to me, I’ll make an exception. For those of you that don’t know, I have a weird connection with the late Johnny Cash. It all started when I watched, Walk the Line, for the first time and has continued ever since. As a result, I only wear graphic tees that are meaningful or speak to my character. I believe that what you express to the world on the outside, especially in the form of a tee, is indicative of your true self. Well, most of the time anyway.
My advice in wearing a graphic tee is to wear something that is meaningful to you. Keep it simple and don’t let it overpower the rest of your outfit. Your graphic tee is meant to compliment your outfit not upstage it.
