Did you just make a Poshmark sale??!! Congratulations! Isn’t it SO exciting to make a sale? I’m not going to lie- I get SO excited when my phone lights up and I see that I made a sale. However, when it comes time for me to ship the item(s), my excitement sometimes fades. I’m not a full-time reseller (yet) and I do have another full-time job during the day. As a result, I have to schedule my USPS deliveries around my constantly changing work schedule. And I’m not going to lie, some weeks are really hard, especially when I have certain standards that I hold myself to as a business owner. Today, I wanted to share with you some tips on shipping your Poshmark sales.
Tip #1: Set a Shipping Schedule
This one is really important to establish. Setting a shipping schedule will ensure that packages go out in a timely manner. If your packages do not go out in a timely manner, customers get upset (and unfortunately, leave lower ratings). I can tell you that personally, this one can be challenging at times as I also work a full-time job during the day. My post office is only open until 5, so I have to rush out of work to make it there before it closes. I do have a shipping schedule in place to make things easier but it can be challenging at times.
Tip #2: Label Your Packages
After I assemble each package (more on that HERE), I label each box with exactly what is in it. Usually, it is a small description of what’s in the box, like, “Anthro Tiny Shorts.” The reason that I do this is so packages don’t get mixed up because that has happened to me in the past. Normally, I will package the item and then print out the shipping label. Once the shipping label is printed out, I pull up my sales on the Poshmark app and then figure out which label goes on what box. Ever since I have adopted this method, none of my sales have been mixed up, which is awesome!
Tip #3: Befriend USPS Employees
This might sound weird but befriend your local USPS store employees. The reason that I say this is that I have and it has made my shipping experience SO much better. I love that when I walk into the store, the employees know who I am, what I am all about, and why I am walking in with so many packages (lol). It is really convenient that I can just walk in, drop my packages off, and know that they are going exactly where they need to go.
