Recently, I decided to try out another reselling platform called Kidizen. Kidizen is a reselling platform that sells children’s items along with women’s items. Since I already sell both categories on my Poshmark and Mercari accounts, I figured why not add Kidizen to the mix?! In less than a week of being on the app, I sold a North Face children’s jacket that sold for $35. Today, I thought that I would share what I have learned for far as a reseller on the app along with some insight from other resellers who sell on the app too.
List and Share Items Daily
Kidizen is structured similar to Poshmark in that listing and sharing items daily is important to making sales. Unlike Poshmark, you cannot bulk share on this app so you have to manually share your items. Based on what I have gathered so far from using the app, the goal is to remain in the New Arrivals page as much as possible so it may be in your favor to spread out your listings throughout the day instead of adding them all at once. When it comes to sharing, you will want to share listings with your followers at least once every hour. This will push your item to the top of the search feed and will hopefully reach more buyers.
Use Hashtags
Hashtags are a very important part of the Kidizen app. Every week, there are “hash flashes” which feature 4 specific hashtags throughout the week. Typically, hashtags can be added to either the item’s description or the item’s comments. Some common hashtags that are used include the season, color, brand, size, and style of the item.
Alternate Sales
In order to send a notification to your followers about your closet, I have learned that it is important to run alternating sales. On the app, you can set up a sale for your closet. Over the course of 2 days, I will run 3 different sales ranging from 5% off to 15% off 1 item in my closet. As a result, a notification is sent out to my followers.
Don’t Just List Children’s Items
Although Kidizen is an app geared towards children’s items, the app also allows you to sell women’s items. Personally, I have been adding both women’s and children’s items to my account. So far, the women’s items have been getting just as much attention as the children’s items. If you sell women’s items, it might be worth a shot to add them to your Kidizen account too.
Send Out Offers
Whenever a potential buyer adds an item to their cart, you can send them an offer. The offer typically includes the sale price, in addition to, the cost of shipping (if you offer free shipping which I highly suggest that you do). One thing to note when sending out offers is that if you are running a closet sale, then the offer that you send out needs to be less than the sale price. For this reason, I will stop running a sale when I send out offers.
A Few Other Things to Note About Kidizen…
Before I go, I wanted to share with you a few other tidbits to note about Kidizen that I have learned. First, Kidizen is a slower platform when you compare it to reselling apps such as Poshmark. Generally, it takes a little longer to make sales on the app. However, although it is a slower app, many resellers have shared that buyers are more willing to pay more money for items and send out better offers which is worth noting.
Additionally, when it comes to shipping, it is just as easy as Poshmark in that the app with provide you with a shipping label. All you need to know prior to shipping is the weight of the item. The shipping cost does come out of your earnings but has proven to be more cost effective when compared to using shipping sites like PirateShip.com.
