Fashion during the cold, winter months shifts from high fashion to high comfort. Living in New York, I see this occur the second that the weather changes. People complain that it is cold outside and the last thing that they want to do is walk through a blizzard dressed in their best. Although dressing for comfort has its benefits, straying away from fashion too far can put people at a disadvantage. How we dress is a reflection of who we are to the world and dressing too comfortably can send the wrong message. By striking a balance between comfort and fashion, we can combine the best of both worlds.
The Solution: Invest in a Structured Handbag
One way to resolve this issue is to invest in a structured handbag. A structured handbag can make any outfit look polished. My favorite affordable handbag designer is Rebecca Minkoff because she does an excellent job of mixing luxury materials with edgy accents. While at a recent trip to TJ Maxx, I found this blush pink Rebecca Minkoff bag for under $100 on clearance. I had fallen in love with it a few weeks prior but wanted to wait until it went on sale to purchase it. I’m so glad that I eventually invested in it because it has become an essential part of my wardrobe. When looking for an essential handbag, be sure to look for bags with simple accents, clean lines, and structure.
Below are some options for every budget:
1. Rebecca Minkoff; 2. Asia Belluci; 3. H&M; 4. Vince Camuto (Save 25% with SALE25)
