Everyone has their own form of self-expression. Personally, I express myself to the world through the clothes that I wear, the shoes on my feet, and the jewels that I strategically place on my body. When I look good, I feel confident, classy, and strong- three qualities that I believe every woman should possess at all times. However, there are times when I feel less than my best. Specifically, when I wear my logo tee.
Logo tees are a fashion staple where I live and I don’t understand why everyone loves them so much. I think that they are unflattering, easy, and boring- three things that no one should ever be. Believe me when I say that your clothes say a lot about you to the world. That includes both the good and bad. What does your current outfit tell the world about you? Something good I hope.
Back to logo tees…Many local jobs require that you wear some sort of uniform, mainly a logo tee. I understand the use of a uniform in the workplace but that doesn’t mean that I agree with it. Like I said earlier, I express myself through my clothes. Working at a job that doesn’t allow you to wear what makes you feel good about yourself doesn’t exactly improve your moral while you work. It does the opposite; it makes even the most self-confident individuals feel less than great about themselves.
As I mentioned above, logo tees are unflattering, easy, and boring. When you wear them in public, unfortunately, people subconsciously associate you with those qualities. I would never want to be associated with those things, especially at the workplace. Wearing bad fashion (such as wearing logo tees) can also alter your attitude, confidence, and work ethic in a negative way. Keep in mind that a person’s self-confidence directly correlates with various aspects of a person’ life.
To sum this up, wear things that make you feel good about yourself. Learn how to bend around the rules. If you do have to wear a uniform to work, try to personalize your outfits so that you feel good and still comply with the rules. Perhaps wear a pair of colorful shoes with your outfit, add a statement necklace to your look, or wear a pair of patterned pants to give your outfit visual interest. Whatever you do, have fun, express yourself, and don’t let bad fashion dull your sparkle!
Be classy. Be confident. Be strong.
