A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a pain of authentic Christian Louboutin booties. I have seen many fake Louboutin shoes in my 8 years of reselling so I am always pleasantly surprised when I find a pair of authentic ones. Fortunately, Christian Louboutin shoes are actually easy to authenticate if you know what you are looking for. Let me share with you a few key things to look for when authenticating Christian Louboutin shoes.
Red Sole Outsoles
The red sole outsoles should be made of leather and painted with a bright glossy vibrant shade of red. Most fakes will be made with a plastic or resin bottom. Within the outsoles, check for the following 3 embossings in this order from top to bottom:
1) Christian Louboutin logo
2) Made in Italy
3) Size
Quality
This is a dead giveaway as to whether or not the shoes are authentic. All of the detailing such as studs, glitter, and sequins should be perfect. Christian Louboutin shoes should have fine, straight, and tightly woven stitching with no gaps. If there is anything less than perfect then there is a good chance that the item may be inauthentic.
Accessories
Authentic Louboutins should be come with 1 to 2 shoe bags, a small mini shoe bag containing heel taps, and wrapping/ shoe stuffing. Additionally, all of these items should be held in a hard cardboard box. Christian Louboutin does not provide authenticity cards with its’ shoes unlike other legacy brands.
Style
I would suggest familiarizing yourself with various Louboutin styles. By studying the detailing on the originals, it can be easier to spot differences between the authentic and inauthentic ones. When in doubt, you can always find an image of the original item and compare the two.
Logo
When it comes to the logo, there should be a space between the “C” and the “H.” Additionally, there should not be a space between the “L” and the “O” and the clarity should be fine and not blurry.
Insoles
Finally, check for the Christian Louboutin logo on the insoles; it should be stamped in gold ink with the word “Paris” center below. If the word “Paris” is missing or printed too high up, then the shoe is a counterfeit.
