As I shared in a previous blog post (Linked HERE), I was selected to test Poshmark’s Promoted Listing feature during the month of June. My free trial lasted for 4 weeks and utilized a $25 weekly budget to promote select items from my Poshmark closet. Since my free trial has ended, I thought that I would share some final thoughts on Poshmark’s Promoted Listings feature and answer the question, “Is it worth continuing?”
Sharing My Results and Data
First and foremost, I would like to share with you exactly what happened during my free 4-week trial. Overall, I had gained 2,662 clicks, sold 11 items, earned $539 in gross sales, and gained 224,945 impressions. As you can see on the graph, I did not have consistent sales over the 4-week trial period. Sales were very sporadic and varied in value. It also appears as through most of my sales occurred during the second and third weeks of the trial.
I’ll be honest, looking at this data as is, I am not convinced that this feature is worth it. But in order to determine whether or not this feature is actually worth the cost, we need to break down the data and look at all of the numbers.
Free Trial: Included 4 weeks of Poshmark paid promotions at $25 per week ($100 Total)
Sales: $539 in Gross Sales over 4 week period
Subtract Poshmark’s Fees: $451.20
Subtract $100 in Promoted Listing Fees: $351.20
Subtract Cost of Goods: $351.20- $70.00 (COG) = $281.20 Profit
Final Thoughts
Would I Continue to Pay for Poshmark’s Promoted Listings Feature After My Free Trial Ended?
My answer to that question is NO. At least not right now in the feature’s current form. This feature is expected to remain in a beta period for a while and I’m certain that this feature is going to continue to change and improve as more users participate in the free trial. Hopefully, once the feature is available to everyone, it will be in a more optimized form.
Do I Still Have Access to Poshmark Promoted Listings After the 4-Week Trial Ends?
YES! After the trial ends, I still have access to the Promoted Listings feature. If I wanted to continue using this service, I am able to. Additionally, now that the trial period has ended, I am able to set whatever weekly budget I am comfortable with. In the future, I would like to experiment with this feature outside of the free trial and see how my results are.
Will A Buyer Know If An Item is Promoted?
As of the time I am writing this post, Poshmark buyers are able to see if an item is promoted within Poshmark searches. When you scroll through search results, it will say “Promoted” on the bottom right hand corner of the image. I’m not sure if this is showing on all promoted listings but it is definitely appearing on some.
