For the past two days, my family and I traveled downstate for my brother’s White Coat Ceremony. After spending a day in the Bronx, we traveled back upstate for a day of shopping. Although I am not a big outlet shopper, spending a day at the Woodbury Common outlets sounded like fun.
If shopping were a sport, I’m pretty sure that I would have a gold metal in it. My dad gave us a 3 hour shopping limit so we really had to hustle in order to hit every store. Although I did not visit every store, I came pretty darn close. Despite construction workers flooding the scene and herds of people everywhere, I made it through today with some great finds. Read below for some store highlights:
J Crew
The first store that I stopped into was the J Crew factory store. When I first walked through the door, I noticed it’s impressive setup. Men’s items were to the right, crewcuts were straight ahead, and women’s merchandise was to the right. Although the size of the store was impressive, the inventory wasn’t anything special. They had a good selection of merchandise if you were in need of basics but nothing really spoke to me so I found it to be a bust.
Lululemon
For those of you that are not familiar with Lululemon, this athletic wear store is a little pricey. Although I wasn’t in need of anything from there, I thought that I would just stop in and look around. When I walked in, the staff was very friendly and informed me of the daily deals. Other than two racks up front, full-priced merchandise filled the store and I couldn’t justify spending $100 on a sweater that I would maybe wear once.
Tory Burch
I’m not crazy about Tory Burch but I figured that I would stop in while I was there. The wait in line wasn’t too bad as I only waited 5 minutes, but when I entered the store…WOW! I have never seen so many people crazy about handbags and clothing in my life. The store is very small so you have to shove people out of the way if you want to find anything. The entire store was 40% off and people were stocking up on handbags and wallets. Trying to escape some of the chaos, I made my way into the corner to check out some jewelry pieces. I found a pretty silver bracelet with the Tory Burch logo for $30 (with 40%) and made my way out of the craziness. (NOTE: They opened a separate store for shoes because of the chaos.)
Kate Spade
Kate Spade was just as chaotic as the Tory Burch outlet. Although there was no line, it was absolute craziness! The entire store was 60% off plus an additional 20% off handbags. In search of a new wallet, I had to get my New Yorker on in order to get my hands on one. I spotted a small section of accessories in the back included in the 60% off sale and needed to check it out. I found the exact wallet that I wanted for $99 and with the additional 60% off, I only paid $40 for it. Score!
Nine West
My final stop was the Nine West outlet. I went in looking for a pair of boots and walked out with a pair of sandals. Whoops! Although the store is small, it is jam packed with shoes, purses, and wallets. Sales included Buy 1, Get 1 60% off and summer clearance at up to 70% off retail prices. I unexpectedly found a pair of sandals for $20 so I was a happy camper.
Check out Monday’s post to see how I style my finds!
