Spring is just around the corner so I thought that today I would talk to you about one of spring’s biggest trends- boho. In all honesty, I have never been a big follower of the boho trend. My style revolves around structured pieces rather than things that are loose and baggy so the boho style has never really appealed to me. While I was walking around TJ Maxx last week and I stumbled across this Free People gem in the dress section. I fell in love with it instantly! (If you love boho, then Free People is the brand for you.) I tried it on and was a little hesitant about the length; It fell in that awkward place where it is too long to be a tunic but too short to be a dress. (I feel like it needs a name… dunic maybe?) After a little tweaking, I decided to buy it and I am SO happy that I did.
Although the boho trend has grown on me, styling loose clothing can be somewhat tricky. Here are few tips on how to look your best while rocking the boho trend:
- Be Proportionate– If you wear a loose-fitting top, make sure that the rest of your outfit is fitted; If you wear a fitted top, make sure that the bottom half is loose. Fashion is all about proportion.
- Be Bold– Boho is all about being expressive and free so don’t be afraid to try out new patterns, colors, or styles.
- Be Classy– Although boho is known for being loose and baggy, make sure that you remember to keep it classy. All pieces should be the appropriate length and make sure that you are covering up the goods.
