On Sunday, the highly anticipated Victoria Beckham for Target collection launched. This collection is the first to follow the iconic Lilly Pulitzer collaboration that resulted in mass chaos nationwide. Not only did it made national news for selling out in 15 minutes across the country but it also crashed the Target website. Although it did not have quite the same effect, the Victoria Beckham for Target collection definitely did not disappoint.
So I first heard of this collaboration a few months ago when I saw it featured in Style Watch. Naturally, I saw it on the Target website and loved that it was stylish and reasonably priced. However, I didn’t want to get too invested in it as I did live through the Lilly Pulitzer collaboration firsthand. FYI: It was scary. When Sunday, April 9 approached, I thought for sure that the collection would sell out. So you can imagine my surprise when I found the entire collection in my Target store the following day. I’m pretty sure that it has to do with the fact that I live in an area where fashion isn’t really a thing that people care all that much about.
The second that I spotted this embroidered sweater on the rack, I knew that I needed it in my life. And I bought it. I thought that this sweater was beautiful when I saw it online. However, when I actually saw it in person, I was pleasantly surprised at not only the quality but also the price. Victoria Beckham definitely killed it in this collaboration. From a reselling perspective, I personally do not believe that this collection holds too high of a resale value. Especially when comparing it to the Lilly Pulitzer collection craziness. But you never know what will happen with it so we will have to wait and see…
