Unveiling My Louis Vuitton Alma BB and Tips on Buying/Sourcing Luxury Goods

Many of you know that I love finding designer goods at a bargain price. Over the years, I have found many designer goods while thrifting including Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Valentino, and Chanel, just to name a few. I have not, however, found an authentic Louis Vuitton handbag. (I thought I found an authentic one in the past, but it turns out that it was just a really good replica). I have lusted after Louis Vuitton bags for years and this year, I FINALLY decided to splurge on one (I mean, YOLO!). Let me tell you, it was not an easy choice when it came to deciding which bag I wanted to buy BUT it was a good learning experience for me and I hope that you can learn a thing or two about the luxury market.

What Should I Know Before Buying Luxury?

There are a few things to keep in mind before buying luxury items: (1) Not All Luxury Brands Are The Same– Not all luxury brands are created equal; some are better than others when it comes to quality. In my opinion, Chanel and Louis Vuitton are probably two of the best luxury companies out there in terms of quality of goods. Their items have hefty price tags but you know that your item is going to last for years to come (well, hopefully). (2) Pick Investment Pieces- Just like all brands are not created equal, not all bags are created equal. Some bags have a much better investment value than others. Ideally, you would want to buy bags that maintain their value years after you buy it. (3) The Price Is Relative– Although the price of each bag might seem like a lot, keep in mind that the price per wear should factor into your buying decisions. The lower your price per wear, the more satisfied you will be with your purchase overall as it will last you for years to come.

Which Bag Should I Buy?

This one is ultimately up to you but I can definitely share with you how I decided which bag was worth it for me to buy. I always knew that I wanted a Louis Vuitton bag but I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to get. I did a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of research and had it narrowed down to 3 bags- the Neverfull, Alma BB, and a chain wallet. I knew that if I was going to be spending $1000+ on a bag, that it needed to be a bag that I could see myself using for the rest of my life/ could pass down to future generations. After a lot of back and forth, I decided on the Alma BB. It just seemed like the best bang for my buck and it is known for being a classic LV bag that never goes out of style.

I absolutely love it! It was definitely worth the money and such a good investment! I’m not a big fan of large bags and this is the perfect bag to throw on while doing day-to-day errands.
