So as I’m sure many of you already know, the TJ Maxx yellow tag clearance is going on now. Just like you, I also wanted to get in on the action! First, I stopped into my local TJ Maxx store to see what goodies they had. After thoroughly inspecting both clearance sections, I sadly found nothing worth my while. (Boo!) Next, I stopped into my local Marshall’s store to see if they had a better selection. And although they had some really great fashion books on sale, there was nothing there either. It wasn’t until I ventured out to a TJ Maxx store almost an hour away that I struck gold! While I was there, I did pick up 2 pieces to keep for myself (including these blush booties) and a couple of pieces to resell.
So while I was at TJ Maxx, I spotted these cute booties in the clearance section. I immediately loved that they were blush pink with a metallic heel (these are two of my favorite things). Once I tried them on, I knew that I needed them and the $15 price tag had me sold. Then, after I found these beauties, I made my way over to the clothing section. While I looked through the yellow tag clearance items, I spotted a really pretty navy jeweled sweater for $15. And you guessed it, I bought that too!
But enough about me…. we now need to talk about reselling TJ Maxx yellow tag clearance items. Personally, I feel like this is a tricky topic for me to talk about. From a reselling perspective, selling yellow tag clearance items sounds like a no-brainer. And you’re right! However, me being me, I really need to think this through. Here is where I have a slight problem with it…
So let’s say that you see a NWT Fossil leather bag on sale. And let’s say that it is on sale for $19. You are SO excited that you found such a great deal on this bag and can’t wait to resell it online. Next, you take photos of the purse and are in the process of looking up comparable items to figure out what to price it for. When you are looking at comparable items, you notice that about 20 other people are selling the exact same bag. And to top it off, pricing starts at $19 (which is what you paid) and ends at around $100+. As a reseller, I would be thinking two things: (1) Am I going to be making a profit off of this item?; (2) Is this item going to sell since there are a lot of people selling the same thing?
The truth of the matter is that situations like this require a LOT of hard work and luck! (But mainly luck!) People are always going to be looking for an item at the lowest price point possible. (Low ball offers anyone?) The point that I’m trying to make here is that you can definitely sell yellow tag clearance items. However, you should try picking items that there aren’t an overabundance of because they might be a lot harder to sell. I hope that you have a wonderful Wednesday and be sure to check out your local TJ Maxx for awesome deals! Let me of your yellow tag clearance finds below!
