Over the last few months, Poshmark has been making some unannounced changes that have shifted how buyers and sellers are using the platform. Some of these updated features have been beneficial to users while others have been a bit more controversial. Today, I wanted to create a comprehensive post sharing all of Poshmark’s updated features and how they could impact your buying and selling experience on the platform.
Update #1: Excessive Listing Removal Policy
I discussed this policy in great detail in THIS post but I thought that it would be worth mentioning again here. After I wrote the previous post, I learned more about the aftermath of this change. Many resellers are struggling with being temporarily suspended and banned from the platform. Some resellers have been able to successfully appeal the decision while others have not. Even when I am writing this post now, there are many unanswered questions regarding this policy change that Poshmark has yet to address.
Update #2: Listing Date Added to Filter
Poshmark quietly rolled out a new feature that allows buyers and sellers to search for items based on their listing date. Based on this data, users can easily see what items are newly listed, which items have been sitting stale, and which items can safely be re-listed as they are older than 60 days old on the app. This app will be a great tool for resellers who are trying to keep their closets running as efficiently as possible.

Update #3: Copied Listings Can Carry Over Likes
When a user wants to re-list an item over 60+ days old on the platform, the seller uses the COPY feature at the bottom the listing to re-list it. Once the new listing was created, it would appear in the “Just In” filter on the app and be treated as though it was a new listing with no data transferring over. Poshmark has now updated this feature so that the seller has the option to treat these listings like brand new listings or have the likers from the previous listing transfer over to the new listing. This new feature is currently being rolled out as we speak so please be patient if you have not noticed it yet.

Update #4: Smart List AI
This feature was announced earlier this year and is Poshmark’s attempt to automate and streamline the listing process. Sellers use the camera feature on the Poshmark app to take a photo of the item that they are trying to sell. AI will then autogenerate as much information as possible for the listing. If the information is not correct, sellers can go in and update the information accordingly. While some resellers enjoy this feature, other resellers express concern over its’ lack of accuracy in descriptions and photos.
Update #5: The Search Algorithm Does Not Work
Have you tried searching for an item on Poshmark in the last few weeks and noticed that you cannot find what you are looking for no matter how hard you try? Trust me when I say that you are not alone. I have reason to believe that Poshmark’s search algorithm is more dysfunctional than ever before (and that’s saying something). After a lot of experimenting with the platform, I realized that there are some major problems with the platform’s search function. Many of the items that I was searching for (using specific keywords) were nowhere to be found. This can be very frustrating for both buyers and sellers.
Until Poshmark address the issues, I highly recommend that if you are looking for an item as a buyer to utilize Google to find it on Poshmark. If you are a seller, I highly recommend using Google SEO in your titles and making sure that your Search Visibility is toggled on to ensure that your items are appearing in searches on both Google and the Poshmark.
