When it comes to sourcing for inventory, I usually only source from thrift and resale stores. However, for 2020, I am exploring other ways to obtain inventory as I am looking to scale my business and shopping at thrift/resale stores isn’t going to be enough to do that. As a result, I have been experimenting with various online sites to see what works best for me and my business. So for today’s post, I thought that I would share my experience of shopping for inventory on ThredUp with you!
I recently signed up for ThredUp and upon sign up, I received a 50% off code which was used on this purchase. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect shopping on the website for the first time. I was familiar with the site through the reselling community but most people I know who use it, use it to send items in, not buy new ones. BUT I thought why not give the site a chance, right??!
First, I started looking up items by brand name. I chose to look up more obscure brands with high resale value to see if they (1) had any of these items in stock and (2) had them priced fairly. Lucky for me, I was able to find a few designer athletic pieces and bunch of shoes for under $10 each with the cheapest item being final sale at $1.99!

Koral Printed Leggings
Alala Coral Mesh Tank
NWT Staud Blue Dress
NWOT Splendid Snakeskin Sandals
NWOT ASOS Pink Floral Shoes
Schultz Silver Strappy Heels
Marc Fisher Metallic Wedges
M. Gemi Black Patent Leather Sneakers
All of these items were purchased by me for around $100 total!
Overall, I would shop from ThredUp again for inventory, especially if it is a good price (with a discount code). With new items coming in daily, there is always a new selection of goods to choose from. I think that I will definitely incorporate ThredUp into my inventory plan as it is good to source inventory from different sources.
