At least once in your Poshmark career, your sales will slow down. Although it may be frustrating at first and you want to give up, please don’t! Use those opportunities to re-evaluate your business and see what you can improve upon. I’m going to be honest with you in saying that Poshmark and I have had our moments (both good and bad). However, just like any other relationship, we put our differences aside and worked past it. Remember, the more time and energy that you invest in your business, the more successful that it will be. Today, I want to discuss how to productively manage slow sales on Poshmark.
Recognizing When Your Sales are Slowing Down
How do you know when you have slow sales on Poshmark? Okay, so let’s say that on average, you make about 5 sales per day. However, you noticed that recently you are struggling to make a single sale in a day. You haven’t made any major changes to your daily routine and you don’t know what is going on. If you are anything like I am, you are probably freaking out (internally, of course). Unfortunately, every Posher will have various seasons of slower sales throughout the year. The key, however, is to learn and grow as a business during these periods and to never whine and complain during them.
So Now What Do I Do?
Now, you have 2 choices here. You can either sit in a corner and complain that your life is over or you can kick it into high gear and get things back on track. What are you going to do? Personally, I am going to take this moment and re-evaluate my business. First and foremost, I am going to record the start and end dates of this season. Perhaps this data could be helpful in indicating future slow seasons and I can prepare myself accordingly moving forward.
Next, I want to take a thorough look at my business and see what practices are hindering my sales. Maybe an item is priced too high and I need to lower the price for it to sell. Or perhaps, I don’t have items in my closet that people are shopping for this time of year. Or maybe your cover photos aren’t appealing to buyers (More on that HERE). These are just a few examples of items that you should re-evaluate during slow seasons.
Whenever you enter a slow season, don’t get easily discouraged! It is part of the game and is to be expected at times. Remember that Poshmark works on an algorithm. The more active you are in the community, the more likely that your items will reach the Poshmark community. Make sure that you are sharing your listings, following new Poshers, and remaining an active member. Slow seasons don’t last forever and you will be back to tons of sales in no time!
