Are you ever confused as to what measurements to provide in your Poshmark listings? Don’t worry, my friends! Today, I am going to share with you everything that you need to know in my ultimate measuring guide. I decided that the easiest way to do this is to break each item down by clothing type with lots of pictures to help you make this as simple as possible. Take a deep breath, maybe grab some coffee, and let’s get to it!
So like I said above, I am going to break everything down by clothing type. The order that I’m going to break everything down by will be shirts and jackets, pants, skirts, dresses and shoes.
Measuring Shirts and Jackets
1. Bust– The measurement from underarm to underarm seams. (I usually measure it across and let buyers know that measurement.)
2. Length- The measurement from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the item. (When I take this measurement, I usually flip the item over and measure it with the front of the item faced down)
3. Shoulders– The measurement between each shoulder seams. (Again, I measure this from the back)
4. Sleeve Length- The measurement from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve
Measuring Pants
1. Waist- The measurement across the waistband. (Again, I usually measure it across and let buyers know that measurement.)
2. Rise- The measurement from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband. (A lot of buyers ask me for this measurement.)
3. Inseam- The inner measurement from the crotch seam to the end of the pant leg. (Note: the photo shows the entire length of the item.)
4. Hips- The measurement of the widest part of the pants from end to end
Measuring Skirts
1. Waist- The measurement across the waistband. (Again, I usually measure it across and let buyers know that measurement.)
2. Hips- The measurement of the widest part of the skirt from end to end
3. Length- The measurement from the top of the skirt waistband to the bottom of the skirt
Measuring Dresses
1. Bust– The measurement from underarm to underarm seams
2. Length- The measurement from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the dress
3. Shoulders– The measurement between each shoulder seams
4. Waist- The measurement across the waistband
5. Hips- The measurement of the widest part of the dress from end to end
6. Sleeve Length- The measurement from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve
Measuring Shoes (Specifically Boots)
1. Calf Circumference- The measurement around the shaft of the boot
2. Boot Shaft- The measurement from the top of the heel to the top of the boot
