I cannot tell you how much time I spend on the Poshmark app trying out different methods to move my inventory. Most of the time, I am able to make sales organically without having to do anything extreme but when inventory sits for a long time, I need figure out ways to get it moving. If items have been sitting for a long time (let’s say for 9 months or longer), then I will discount it or take it to my local Plato’s Closet to try to break even. But what about the items that haven’t been sitting that long and haven’t moved in a while?? I have a few ways that I normally move inventory, but I was curious to see if re-listing items would impact my sales. Here is what happened…
NOTHING!! But seriously though, it didn’t impact my sales at all. For some people, I am sure that this tedious and time consuming method works but for me, it did absolutely nothing. I also have 800+ items in my closet which is a LOT of items to take down and re-list. Whether you are new to reselling or a veteran, know that you will have a unique customer-base and what works for one reseller, may not work for another. For me, this method did not work but that does not mean that it won’t work for you!
So what exactly is re-listing?? It’s very simple: you remove old Poshmark listings and re-list the item with a new description, title, and picture. Like the mentioned above, it is a very tedious process that can be very time consuming. To see if this method will work best for you and your customer-base, you are going to need to play around with it and see what happens. I conducted my little experiment for a week or so before making a conclusion on it. Try it for yourself and let me know if it works for you!!
