Two weeks ago while in Fort Worth, I stumbled across a book titled The Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees. I bought it amongst other things while shopping at Anthropologie during my trip. During the flight back, I read it to kill some time and I am so happy that I did.
For those of you unfamiliar with it, The Curated Closet is directed towards all of you fashionistas out there. The caption on the cover reads, “A simple system for discovering your personal style and building your dream wardrobe.” And this book helps you do exactly that.
When opening to the contents, you will notice that this book is divided into four sections; Part 1- The Basics, Part 2- Discover Your Personal Style, Part 3- Build Your Dream Wardrobe, Part 4- The Art of Shopping. Within each section are smaller chapters focusing on specific, directed points. Each part serves a very specific purpose and provides great insight on each topic.
My favorite section is ‘The Art of Shopping,’ specifically the section on how to shop like a conscious consumer. Most of us fashionistas out there like to shop so this topic is very relatable for most of us. While shopping, I am very conscientious of what I am buying as my resources vary. In summary, this book does a great job in teaching you how to be a smart shopper instead of an impulse shopper. Also, it is a great step-by-step guide on how to build your dream wardrobe. All-in-all, this book is a great read and I strongly recommend it to all of the fashionistas out there.
