For today’s post, I would like to get a little personal with you and share what I’ve learned from this exciting journey so far and what’s ahead in the near future. When I started Recycled Roses back in January, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. In all honesty, this entire process started on whim. I had just left graduate school in Florida, was out of a job, and basically trying to figure out how to get my life in some sort of working order. While living in Florida, I stumbled across power bloggers Rachel Parcell and Emily Gemma’s webpages and knew that these women were on to something big. They showed me that by sharing your talents and thoughts with the world, you have the power to leave a mark in it.
After months of prepping, I decided to launch Recycled Roses in mid-January. I had no idea what I was doing but I knew that it would somehow work itself out. Although I have only been blogging for a little more than 4 months, I have already learned some valuable lessons that I want to share with you:
1. Be Patient. Good Things Come to Those Who Wait.
In life, you have to be patient. Some of us are better at it than others but in order to achieve your goals, you have to woman up and wait. When it comes to blogging, the most important thing that I have learned so far is that waiting pays off. In the beginning, I had no page views, under 100 Instagram followers, and no direction regarding the blog. Now, I have many more page views per day, over 1000 Instagram followers, and a clear direction for the blog moving forward. Although success doesn’t usually happen overnight, I can tell you that as hard as it is to wait, patience does pays off.
2. Stand Out
I am a BIG advocate for embracing your individuality and standing out. Growing up in a world full of rules and regulations, you can’t help but want to break free in order to live life to your fullest potential and actually make a meaningful mark on the world. Most of my early years were spent surrounded with the small-town mentality filled with ideas of uniformity and conformity. It wasn’t until I got older and left my small town for school that I discovered who I truly was and what I truly believed. With that in mind, when I started my blog I wanted to share these passions with the world. I realized that when I embraced my uniqueness that success soon followed.
3. Don’t Get Discouraged Easily
Success doesn’t happen overnight. Sorry, but it’s true. When I first started out, I wanted big things to happen in a very short period of time. Unfortunately for me, life doesn’t work that way. Although I have only been blogging for a little over 4 months, I have already had many wonderful opportunities . Instagram has been nothing but kind to me over the past few weeks. Many of my photos have been regrammed by small and large companies alike and many more photos will be shared within the next few weeks. Although I am not making a big impact yet, I know that these little successes will one day turn into big ones.
In addition to sharing what I have learned so far, I am excited to share with you the future of Recycled Roses. Recycled Roses is a place where women can learn how to live luxuriously for less and be confident in their own skin. Living luxuriously for less is not only in how you live your life but also in how you feel about yourself while living your fabulous life. As a classy, confident, and strong woman, I hope to share my message with all of my fashion-loving sisters out there. In the next few weeks, you will be seeing more fashion styling, words of encouragement, and tips on how to live luxuriously for less.
