Last Saturday, Target launched its’ highly anticipated collaboration with the iconic British brand, Hunter. Hunter is most famous for their rain boots, which are a highly coveted status symbol among the most fashion forward. Living in New York, I invested in a pair of Hunter boots a few years back. Not only are these shoes cute to wear but they are very durable, especially during harsh weather. When I first heard about the Hunter x Target collaboration a month ago, I was really excited to see the collection. (Yes, I stalked the Target website and picked out exactly what I wanted to buy). While I was looking through the site, I realized that my local Target would not be carrying the brand. (No!!!) However, I did learn that a Target store located 1 hour away would have it. So needless to say, I would be making the trip.
After driving what seemed like forever, I finally arrived at my destination excited to see what goodies awaited me. However, when I walked through the door I was thoroughly disappointed. (Mind you, the store opened at 7 AM and I didn’t get there until 10:30 AM). The Hunter x Target collaboration was on display in the front of the store right when you walked in. There was also a Target employee strictly monitoring the display. By the time I arrived, there was very little of a selection, especially in women’s items. Nothing in the women’s section peaked my interest so I migrated over to the men’s section (many of the items were unisex). And while I was looking in the men’s section, I found a silver bomber jacket (pictured above) which I immediately fell in love with.
Overall, the Hunter x Target collaboration didn’t impress me like I thought that it would. The quality was not equivalent to the original (which was to be expected). And I also didn’t like the limited selection available in store. However, I am happy with the jacket that I purchased and I look forward to wearing it this spring.
