Everyone on Poshmark is looking to make as many sales as possible on the app (myself included). However, most people don’t realize that you need to have a strategy in place in order to make those sales. I’ve been on the Poshmark app for 6 years now and over those past 6 years, I have had various levels of engagement within the app. Now that I have fully committed my time and energy to the app, I understand how important it is to have a strategy for yourself and your business. It has taken me a LOT of experimenting to figure out what works best for me and my customers and today, I would like to help you in figuring out a strategy that works best for you!
Analytics Are More Important Than You Think
Analytics are SUPER important for your business and are commonly overlooked. If you are treating your Poshmark closet as a business, then you need to treat it like a business! That means running reports, looking at analytics, and asking your customers questions. One example of how this could apply to your business is to look at when customers are most active. It is not a secret that most of the Poshmark community is most active at night. Therefore, you should target a lot of your activity to happen at night with your largest customer base. Again this is just one of the many ways that you could use your analytics to help guide your business.
Offers to Likers Helps to Increase Activity on the Platform
To be honest, I was never really big into the whole offers to likers thing until I saw it have a major impact on my business. As soon as I started incorporating offers to likers in my strategy, I noticed that the amount of people interacting with my closet increased significantly. This is something that I have incorporated in my daily strategy and it definitely makes a difference.
Re-listing Items Gives Them a New Life
Sometimes, you have items in your closet that have been sitting far too long. No worries, try re-listing 5 items that have been stale to see if maybe they will turn into quick sales, especially items that have been sitting for a really long time.
Add New Listings Daily or Every Few Days
More listings = more sales. I will tell you that this is 100% true from 6 years of experience on the app. Personally, I try to list a few items (3-5 items) when I first get up in the morning and then after 8 PM at night EST (3-5 items). This is when the community is most active and you will probably get the most activity on your account.
Time is Money- Don’t Overshare Your Closet
Believe it or not, I share my closet maybe once per day or every other day. I hate sharing my closet because it takes a really long time as my closet is on the larger side. However, I’ve noticed that by not oversharing my closet, I am still making steady sales. People might say that sharing is the key way to making sales but I can tell you that it is only a small part of the equation.
Sell Items that People Want
This may sound silly but I would focus on selling items that people actually want to buy. If you want to make lots of sales, you have to treat your closet like a business. That means that you must place all personal preference aside and focus on buying things that people are looking for. I would suggest creating a trend report and sourcing items that will make you money (See that post HERE).
All-in-all, there are many pieces that must come together in creating a successful Poshmark sales strategy. I believe that no one piece is more important than another and that all of these pieces must be incorporated together in order to achieve success. I hope that this post gave you something to think about and hopefully, you are inspired to take a look and create your own Poshmark sales strategy.
