Today is an exciting day! Today is the day that I am finally able to share with you how I organize my reselling storage unit! If you are interested in learning more about my storage unit journey, be sure to visit THIS post. In today’s post, I am hoping to share with you how I set up my unit to maximize available space and the products that I used to make that happen! Let’s get to it!
Shipping Station
One goal that I had for the unit was to make it a place that I could easily package and ship out my items from. I decided to buy a black storage shelving unit from Target (which I will link at the bottom of the post) and set it up right at the edge of the unit near the door. I decided to store some excess inventory on the top two shelves, mailers and tape on the next shelf down, followed by USPS supplies and inventory supplies on the remaining shelves. I am really happy with this set up as it allows me easy access to my shipping items and makes the shipping process much smoother for me.
Work Station & Desk
In addition to having a shipping station, I wanted a small workspace. To make that dream a reality, I bought a desk from Ikea (Linked HERE) along with a little stool (Linked HERE). I really like having this little station because it gives me a place to not only package my items but also prep them for storage too.
Inventory Storage
After I started to rent the unit, my entire inventory storage situation drastically changed. Not only is where I store my items different but how I store my items has changed too (more on that Wednesday). Prior to having the unit, all of my items were stored in space saver bags. Although I enjoyed that system for a while, it became less and less practical as time went on. Now that I had ample space to store my items, I decided that the most logical step was to utilize large storage bins and bags. Each bin and bag was labeled accordingly and placed on steel storage shelves. (All of the products that I used will be linked below). In addition to the bins and bags, my dresses hang on a commercial grade hanging rack. This hanging rack has wheels and can easily be moved in or out of the unit. (Linked HERE).
