I have always been fascinated by the psychology behind fashion and personal style. I tend to ask myself, ‘Why do people wear that they wear?’ or ‘What would make someone choose that outfit over another?’ Fashion allows for people to share a little piece of themselves with others through what they wear and how they present themselves. It provides an opportunity for people to get personal without saying a word. With that in mind, what would your personal style say to the world? Are you bold and confident? Delicate and feminine? Or maybe a little bit of both?
When it comes to creating and defining personal style, people gravitate toward pieces that are reflective of their personalities. People are always asking me how I would define my style and the first words that come to mind are always “edgy” and “glam.” I love mixing edgy fabrics such as leather and leopard with the glamour of lace and diamonds. My draw towards edgy materials is reflective of my bold and confident personality while my draw towards the more delicate materials are reflective of my softer, feminine side. Although my style is defined as “edgy glam,” my style does evolve and change on a regular basis as I draw inspiration from other bloggers, Pinterest, and the world around me.
A couple of weeks ago, I stopped into my local Plato’s Closet and saw this gorgeous Splendid jacket on the front rack. I swear it was love at first sight! Not only did it fit perfectly but also it was a great deal at only $25! Naturally, I needed to add some edge with my black, leather boots and some glam with my favorite-jeweled necklace. The end result was a perfect outfit for running errands and looking glam!
