Whenever I visit NYC, I always come back home inspired, especially when it comes to fashion. Whether it come from walking by displays in stores, my fellow fashionistas on the streets, or from a fashion museum, I always return home with new outfit inspiration. As a reseller, I get a good idea of what is popular in larger cities so that I can return home and source accordingly. While I was on my trip, I bought items to resell in my Poshmark closet, @recycledroses, and to keep for myself. (I will do a NYC fashion haul next week on the blog and Instagram). Today, I want to focus on two special places that I went to while on my trip, the Woodbury Common Outlets and the Museum at FIT. Let’s get to it!
1. Woodbury Common Outlets
Every time I visit NYC, I make a point to visit the Woodbury Common Outlets. (Visit this previous post HERE for more on the outlets). They have a plethora of designer stores including, Tory Burch, Prada, Fendi, Gucci, Barney’s Warehouse, Lululemon, and a bunch of others. Honestly, I wasn’t too impressed with what I found there and I didn’t end up buying too much. I did, however, buy a pair of Tory Burch earrings for under $30, a scarf and earrings from Banana Republic Factory Store, and earrings and tights from J Crew Factory among other things. (Also Side Note: If you ever go into a Tory Burch or Kate Spade outlet, be ready to be packed in like sardines and have staff get all up in your business so be ready.)
2. The Museum at FIT
So I’ll be honest, I had no idea that FIT had a museum on its’ campus. I have been to FIT previously as all of the best NYC thrift stores are right near it (check out that post HERE) but I had never actually been to the museum there. So my brother and I stopped into the museum and learned that they had a special exhibit on the history of the color pink. We checked out the 2 room exhibit and learned how the color pink has evolved throughout fashion over the years. For more on the exhibit, click HERE.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s post!
