Have you ever found Jimmy Choo shoes while thrifting and questioned their authenticity? I sure have! In fact, I found a pair when I went thrifting a few weeks ago. Although I know that these are authentic, you can’t always be certain with high-designer brands. Many of these brands are highly replicated so it really helps if you know what to look for when authenticating these items. Today, I wanted to share some tips on authenticating Jimmy Choo shoes!
The Insole Logo
Every pair of authentic Jimmy Choo shoes have a white fabric insole label with “Jimmy Choo London” printed on it. Each side of the label is sewn symmetrically into the shoe. The “Jimmy Choo” logo should be evenly spaced on the insole label in large letters and each “O” in “Choo” should be round. Also, the word “London” should be printed in a small font underneath it and centered between the second “M” from Jimmy and “H” in Choo. Additionally, the middle line on the “H” should be placed towards the top and not in the middle.
The Sole
The sole should have “Jimmy Choo” printed on the top, followed by “London” printed in a smaller font below it. Some shoes, like the ones above, say “Vero Cuoio” on them, which means “true leather” in Italian. Beneath that, you should find a label stating “Made in Italy” and the European shoe size. Also, make sure that logo is the same as on the insole.
Other Points to Consider
1. The Zipper– It should gold, rectangular and have the Jimmy Choo logo engraved on it. If you find anything else, they are replicas.
2. The Box– An authentic box is a light lilac color with silver writing on it. Again, check to make sure everything with the logo matches up. You also will find the Jimmy Choo logo on both sides of the lid and on the bottom of the box, you should find detailed information about the shoes.
3. The Materials– Jimmy Choo shoes are made of high-quality materials, such as leather from Italy.
