I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! For today’s post, I am excited to share with you my (thrifted) handbag collection. That’s right, all of these bags were acquired while thrifting! One of the reasons why I love thrifting so much is because I have a habit of finding really high-end pieces for 15 dollars and under. Everything that you see pictured above was purchased at a thrift store in either New York or Florida over the past 2 years. As you can see, I have acquired quite a collection.
Here is my collection from left to right with details:
- Silver Leather Crossbody– Found at the Goodwill in Ponte Vedra, FL for $5
- Blue Snakeskin Saks Fifth Avenue Bag– Found at the Salvation Army in Rome, NY for $4
- Black Made In Italy Crossbody- Found at the Goodwill in Ponte Vedra, FL for $5
- Blue Leather Saks Fifth Avenue Bag– Found at the Salvation Army in Rome, NY for $3
- Red Fendi Crossbody– Found at the Salvation Army in Ilion, NY for $5

- Black Longchamp Crossbody– Found at the Goodwill in Ponte Vedra, FL for $7

- Black Gucci Crossbody– Found at the Salvation Army in Rome, NY for $6
With so much luck thrift shopping, I thought that I would share some of my tips and tricks with you:
- Stay Hydrated and Eat Beforehand– This might seem like common sense but it is easily overlooked. Sometimes, you get caught up in the moment and forget to eat something beforehand. As a result, you get hangry, tired, and unfocused. Your entire shopping trip is cut short because of a grumbling stomach. More importantly, most thrift stores don’t allow you to bring food or drink into the store, meaning that you need to leave if you need to eat or hydrate. Just make it easier on yourself and do it beforehand.
- Be Patient– Great finds may find you but the majority of the time, you have to find them. This requires a great deal of patience. I am not the most patient person in the world but when it comes to thrifting, I know that in order to find a diamond, you have to be patient, diligent, and focused. My best (and most expensive) finds have been the result of hours of searching through racks and bins.
- Pack Light– When I first started thrifting, I would easily get tired while shopping because I would tote around my heavy yet stylish handbag. I would switch my purse from shoulder to shoulder with no relief from my aches. Quickly, I learned that when thrift shopping, it was important to pack light. My advice to you is to wear a lightweight crossbody with only your wallet and phone inside of it. The more weight in your bag, the more pain you are going to feel while wearing it around for a prolonged period of time.
Be classy. Be confident. Be strong.
