Last week, I was fortunate enough to find a pair of children’s Hunter rain boots. Out of curiosity, I looked them up online and discovered that they retailed for around $65; At the thrift store, they were $4. Although I am tempted to sell them, I am going to hold onto them for a future child or two. Something that caught my eye after I found them was the discrepancies in sizing on the bottoms of the shoes. Let me explain…
Hunter is a UK company that produces various products including shoes and outerwear. As a result, many of their items have both US and UK sizing on them. These little rain boots were no exception. The bottom of the shoes had a “4” on the bottom while the inside tag read “5G/ 6B.” After a doing a little research, I realized that the “4” was the UK size while the US size read “5G/ 6B.”
This sizing feature is present on all Hunter shoes and is something to be cognizant of, especially as a reseller. Unfortunately, I realized this after I had a listed a pair of children’s boots under the wrong size. This ultimately led to an upset customer over a sizing mistake that was entirely my fault. You live and learn, I guess.
To help you to avoid my mistakes, I am going to add in a UK to US size chart below to help you with Hunter boot sizing.
