A few weeks ago, I purchased an authentic Fendi wallet from the RealReal as a gift. Many of you are probably thinking, ‘How do you know if it is authentic or not, especially since you cannot see it in person?’ And that’s a great question! Sometimes it can be difficult to tell if an item is authentic over the internet but hopefully, today’s post can provide you with some guidance. Let’s get started!
First, be sure to pay attention to the outer box and accompanying paperwork. The box should be made of a sturdy cardboard that is a dark mustard yellow color. It should have a dark color as the border. On the inside of the box, there will be a note on the inner part of the lid stating that the packaging was made in Italy.
Next, let’s take a look at the paperwork that comes with the purchased item. There should be a mini envelope that reads Fendi Roma on it. Within the envelope is a small folded piece of paper that provides fabric instructions for the item.
Now, let’s take a look at the logos and stitching. First and foremost, the stitching on the item should be even and clean. In short, it should be perfect. For reference, take a quick look at the photo above. Next, look at the logo. The logo should be uniform throughout and should also be embossed into the leather in a clean manner.
The photo above shows the wallet’s serial number. It can be found on the inner pocket of the wallet. It is a very long number and cannot be missed.
Hopefully, by showing you this wallet today, you can learn what to look for if you stumble across a Fendi wallet in the thrifting wild.
