Running a successful Poshmark closet sale can be a little tricky. Last year, I decided to test out an idea that I had on a whim and hosted a New Year’s Eve Poshmark Closet sale. After lowering prices on a bunch of stale listings in my closet, I made over 17 sales in less than 24 hours which was a personal record for me at the time. As I continue to grow my business for 2019, I know that I need to incorporate more sales into my business model to increase profits. Today, I wanted to talk about this in more detail and explain how to run your own successful Poshmark closet sale.
1. Be An Active User
This one might seem obvious but be an active user on the app. I’m not going to lie to you, this is very difficult for me at times as I work a full-time job, in addition to being a reseller. Try to share listings, follow new people, and list new items every day, even if it is only 10 things. Consistency is key in this business and for 2019, I am going to try much harder to get better at it.
2. Track Your Listings
This one is very important and something that I learned while working a previous job. And that is to keep meticulous records of your inventory, specifically, when you list items. I set a limit for how long I am allowed to keep items for full price before they are discounted. By doing this, you can hopefully move your inventory to allow for new inventory to come in. Keep in mind that this will fluctuate based on season as well.
3. Run Your Sales at Optimal Times
Over the years, I have learned that the majority of my Poshmark users are active between 10 PM-12 AM EST. As a result, I tend to be most active during that time as well. For example, this year’s end of the year Poshmark closet sale will start at 10 PM EST on NYE as it will have high customer engagement at that time. In short, sales should be planned around when active users are on the app.
