This past week, I spent a few days in and out of the Big Apple. Although my visit was short-lived, it was jam-packed with shopping, white coats, and a renewed outlook on life. Above are a few of the items that I purchased while shopping at the Woodbury Common Outlets in Central Valley. You can read about my adventures HERE.
First, I found the Tory Burch bracelet shown above. I scored this bracelet for only $30 plus tax. Next, I picked out this saffiano leather wallet from Kate Spade. I found this beauty in the clearance section marked down to $99. With an additional 60% off clearance items, I couldn’t pass it up. Finally, I found these amazing sandals at the Nine West outlet store. I saw them as I walking out the door and I knew that I needed them instantly.
Although shopping was a highlight of my trip, my time in the Big Apple was for something far more important. This past Wednesday was my little brother’s White Coat Ceremony in the Bronx. It is often during periods of transition that we reflect on ourselves and the world around us. For my brother, he is now living the dream that he has been working towards for years. The joy on his face and the twinkle in his eye when he talks about this new chapter of his life inspires me. It inspires me to want better for myself and to work that much harder towards my dreams.
However, living out your dream is a complex thing. People continually try to tear you down, tell you that you can’t, and say that you are not being “realistic.” The truth of the matter is that I tried to do things the “cookie-cutter” way and it got me nowhere. I’ve learned that if I want to succeed in this world and live my life to the fullest, I need to do things my way and in my own time. There are times when I feel as though the entire world is against me. It is in these instances that I have to remind myself that despite the negativity, there will always be one person that believes in my hopes and dreams.. me! Sometimes, you are your only cheerleader and that is okay. Don’t ever give up on your dreams and inspire others to never give up on theirs’ as well.
Be classy. Be confident. Be strong.
