I don’t know about all of you but one thing that I dread doing on Poshmark is sharing my closet! It can be extremely time consuming (especially if you have a large closet) and leave you feeling mentally exhausted when you are done (trust me I know firsthand). It shouldn’t be that way, right??! That’s why for today’s post, I want to share with you all 3 ways to save time and maximize sales while sharing on Poshmark.
Tip #1: Don’t Share Other People’s Items INSTEAD Share Your Own
This tip is probably going to be an unpopular one but don’t share other people’s items on Poshmark. Why? Because it doesn’t really do anything. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely a nice gesture to share other people’s items but when you look at how it factors into the app’s algorithm, it doesn’t really do a whole heck of a lot. By sharing someone else’s item, that item then shows in your followers’ feeds but it doesn’t increase the item’s ranking on search results. Therefore, you aren’t really doing the seller any favors as they are not getting a bump in search results. HOWEVER, if you share your own items with your followers the opposite happens; Your item will increase in search results which then increases your likelihood of selling an item in your own closet. As much as I hate to say this: when it comes to Poshmark sharing, helping others doesn’t really help.
Tip #2: Engage in Targeted Closet Sharing
When it comes to sharing, you need to engage in targeted closet sharing. By that, I mean that you need to share your closet when your active audience is the greatest. Over the years, I have noticed that my audience is consistently most engaged at night around 10 PM EST (which is conveniently when the last Poshmark party is of the day- Coincidence? I think not.). At a bare minimum, I would share your closet during this party. Other times of the day that have an increase in engagement is earlier in the morning and around noon. By engaging in targeted closet sharing, you are maximizing your exposure during high levels of audience engagement.
Tip #3: Create a Strategy that Works for You
Sharing on Poshmark is something that usually requires some trial-and-error. Some people are able to figure out a routine that works for them right away while others need a little bit of adjusting to make it work best. What works for me and my Poshmark audience may not be ideal for you and your audience (which is 100% okay). Figure out what works best for you and stick with it; remember that consistency is key when it comes to apps with algorithms.
